Most online PDF tools upload your file, process it on their servers and send it back. Servers cost money for every file, so free plans are often capped: a set number of tasks per day or per hour, a maximum file size, or a prompt to sign up or upgrade once you hit the limit. The exact rules differ from site to site and change over time.
FilesStay works differently. The tools run in your browser, on your own device. We do not pay per file, so there is no reason to count them.

- Compress PDF: shrink a PDF by strength, or to a target like 100 KB, 200 KB, 500 KB or 1 MB.

What “no limit” really means
There is no counter, no time-out and no file cap set by us. The one real limit is your device: a very large PDF or a long batch of photos needs memory, so an older phone will be slower than a laptop. If a file is too much for your phone, try it on a computer.
What FilesStay does not do
To be fair about it: we only do four jobs. There is no PDF to Word conversion, no OCR, no text editing and no e-signing. Our compressor only shrinks images, so a PDF that is mostly text and fonts may get smaller with a server-based tool. If you need those things, a larger suite is the better choice. How is it free?
Because your device does the work, running FilesStay costs very little. We may show a small number of ads in future to cover hosting. The four tools will not be put behind a daily limit.
Questions
Do I need to create an account?
No. Open a tool and use it. There is nothing to sign up for.
Are my files uploaded?
No. Every tool runs in your browser. Load a page, turn off your internet connection and the tool still works.
Is there a file size limit?
We do not set one. Very large files depend on your device’s memory.
